SUP in Kavouri: Your Guide to One of Athens’ Most Beautiful Paddle Spots🐚

One of the most beautiful beaches in the southern part of Athens — and definitely one of my favorite SUP spots — is Kavouri. With lush green scenery, calm waters, and a unique energy, it’s the perfect place whether you’re just starting out SUP or looking for a relaxing ride on the sea.

🚗 How to get to Kavouri

👉 By bus from Athens city center

👉 By car

There is easy parking near the beach, making access very convenient.

⚠️ Note: From May to September, parking can be difficult during peak hours. 

In this period I recommend coming very early in the morning

🐾 It’s also pet friendly, perfect if you want to bring your dog.

🌊 Ideal SUP conditions

Kavouri works best when:

✔️ there is a south wind

✔️ up to 2 Beaufort

Under these conditions the sea stays calm and safe and everyone can do SUP

⚠️ Summer tip: Be extra careful due to boat traffic.

🏄 What you’ll see on a SUP tour

Every ride is unique — but always magical. Along the coastline you’ll discover apart from the lush green scenery, rocky formations and small caves. If this is your lucky day you may also encounter wildlife. From time to time I have seen cormorants, foxes, caretta caretta sea turtles and even dolphins.
